How was roulette originated?

The historical background of Roulette is relatively associated to the famous French mathematician, Blaise Pascal, whose reputation is apparently recognized for his work in spheres of Probability. His fascination dealt in devices that moved in motion. Roulette, having simple features in it, was played in Paris, France during 17th century fanatically. Later, two other Frenchmen, Louis and Francois Blanc contributed the zero in 1842 to the Roulette wheel as a rectification to the game.

The years followed and Roulette was invited into the US in the beginning of 1800s. Another contribution of double zero was made here that resulted to a surge in the house odds. The eventual years continued to perfecting the reputation of Roulette, and the game was enormously played all over the US and Europe. To some fanatics, Roulette is also known as ‘King of Casino games’.

Francois Blanc, whose name is often associated with the building of first casinos in Monte Carlo, is believed to have managed a bargain with the devil in order to extract the concealed mysteries of the game. One fact behind this legend is that if a player sums all the numbers up i.e., from 1 to 36, on the wheel, the total sum is ‘666?, which marks its conjunction with the devil.
